How We Verify Discount Codes

Every discount code on ShareVouchers is manually tested by our editorial team before being published. Here is exactly how our verification process works.

Our Verification Process

ShareVouchers is a UK-based discount code website. Our editorial team sources, tests and publishes voucher codes for over 1,500 UK retailers. We do not publish codes we have not tested. Every code marked as Verified has been manually checked at checkout by a member of our team on the date shown.

Step-by-Step: How We Test a Discount Code

  1. Source the code — We find codes directly from retailer newsletters, affiliate networks, and brand promotions.
  2. Visit the retailer — We go to the retailer's live website and add qualifying items to the basket.
  3. Apply the code — We enter the code at checkout and confirm the discount is applied correctly.
  4. Record the result — Working codes are published with a Verified date. Failed codes are discarded immediately.
  5. Daily review — All active codes are re-checked daily. Codes that stop working are moved to Recently Expired.

What the Verified Date Means

Every store page on ShareVouchers shows a Last checked date at the top and a Verified date on each individual code. These dates reflect the last time our editorial team confirmed the code was working at checkout. We update these dates every 24 hours.

Unverified Community Codes

Some codes on our store pages are labelled Unverified. These are submitted by members of our community. We publish them to give you additional options but we cannot guarantee they will work. Always try verified codes first.

Recently Expired Codes

When a code stops working it is moved to the Recently Expired section at the bottom of each store page. We keep expired codes visible so you can see what discounts a retailer has offered in the past and judge when they might run similar promotions again.
