You’ve found our Norton 360 3.0 Coupon page. If you find yourself in need of a new PC home security package, the question you’ll most likely be asking yourself is “what’s the difference? does it matter which package I choose?” It’s true that most of the PC protection packages available today look pretty much the same, and perform pretty much the same job. However, they can be pricey, and if you’re paying out $80 plus, you might as-well pay attention to the smaller details and get the best bang for your buck.
One package we’ve looked at recently is Norton 360. Our first impressions were very good – the interface is minimalist and simple, which means no searching among a forest of tabs and options just to find out your security level. Setup was a breeze – the download size is less than fifty MB, no problem for most broadband lines. It’s a spatially unassuming program, just 300 MB when unzipped and installed onto the hard drive.
One more critical thing we noticed is that it’s very light on the system’s resources. We tested high end applications and games on an average system with Norton 360 running, and could not discern a difference in system performance.
Because everybody needs PC security and protection, but not everybody is a natural whiz at advanced user functions, Norton 360 is tailored towards simplicity of use. If your PC is protected, it’ll say so clearly on the launch screen, and for many users that will be the end of it. For those wishing to delve deeper, the program is split into four groupings leading to the more sophisticated diagnostic capabilities of Norton 360.
- Norton 360 is highly adept at the 3 core functions of a PC protection package: anti-virus, anti-phishing and anti-spyware
- Norton 360 has a powerful firewall to prevent the coming and going of threats to and from your PC/Network
- The package can be installed on up to 3 PCs
- Excellent “PC Backup and Restore” functionality, for recovery of your PC should things go pear shaped. It’s a great idea to have backup systems integrated as many home users don’t think to physically back-up their data
- You can safeguard up to 2GB of your files on Norton’s online servers so you don’t have to pay for physical storage to keep the most important files safe from data loss events
- Online active protection for your financial transaction, useful for home users who do a lot of shopping on the internet
- Improved PC performance may be attainable using Norton 360’s PC Tuneup function. Other security packages do not come with this – it’s a nice and original touch.
There were a few oversights that presented themselves while we were reviewing this product. First, there is only limited support for providing security over a wireless network. Second, Norton 360 does not support the Opera web browser.
Despite this, we believe that Norton 360 is perfect for Home Users, who do not require the high end protection needed for some businesses. Norton 360 performed spectacularly well in its ability to protect a home user’s PC. It’s thoroughly recommended.
